About the Role
Leidos is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to lead and deliver modern enterprise applications for the Social Security Administration (SSA). This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining Java/Spring Boot backend services and Angular-based frontends within an Agile environment. You will mentor junior developers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the SSA Digital Modernization mission impacting 65+ million Americans monthly.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular 9+, and REST APIs.
- Build microservices and ensure Twelve-Factor App compliance.
- Develop and maintain databases (PostgreSQL or Oracle) and backend components.
- Collaborate with product design and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (Scrum, SAFe) and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
- Mentor junior staff and lead technical discussions on architecture and code quality.
- Apply DevOps practices using Jenkins, Git/Bitbucket, containerization, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Required Skills
- 10+ years of professional software development experience with Java/J2EE.
- Strong experience with Angular 9+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices.
- Frontend development: HTML, JavaScript, React.js, CSS, jQuery.
- Knowledge of Hibernate, JPA, JDBC, and OOP principles.
- Agile experience (Scrum/SAFe) and understanding of Twelve-Factor App methodology.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
Preferred / Desired Skills
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Maven, Nexus) and monitoring tools (Splunk, VisualVM).
- Familiarity with Linux environments, DevOps practices, OpenShift, XML/XSLT.
- Hands-on cloud experience with AWS (S3), Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and scalable system design skills.
