Job Overview

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to support a major data center project in Baton Rouge, LA. This leadership role focuses on managing pre-construction and construction phases, ensuring contractors meet schedule, safety, and quality expectations while delivering mission-critical infrastructure projects.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams delivering planning, engineering, architecture, and construction management services for complex data center environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and promote the company’s Beyond-Zero safety culture.
  • Lead pre-construction planning, constructability reviews, and site logistics strategies.
  • Develop and manage project construction schedules and commissioning plans.
  • Oversee large-scale data center projects valued at $10M+ total installed cost.
  • Lead and manage project field teams (5+ staff members).
  • Review and approve contractor, subcontractor, and vendor execution plans.
  • Monitor daily construction progress and provide reporting to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate contractor coordination meetings focusing on safety, cost, and schedule.
  • Manage change orders, installed quantities audits, and defect remediation processes.
  • Drive innovation through modularization, prefabrication, BIM, and Lean construction methods.

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in large building or civil construction projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience leading data center construction projects and subcontractor teams.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems including:
    • 120 VAC power tie-ins
    • Controls wiring and instrumentation
    • Fiber terminations and network cabling
    • Panel wiring and controller installation
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70E standards.
  • Strong understanding of CPM scheduling and commissioning planning.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to navigate active construction sites safely.
  • Standing, walking, climbing ladders/stairs, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Coordinating movements in dynamic construction environments.
