Job Summary

Amazon Prime Video’s First Party – Client, Content and Collection team delivers best-in-class customer experiences across three key clients: Prime Video on Fire TV, Prime Video in automobiles, and a new confidential client. We are seeking a highly motivated software engineer to join our team, lead the design and implementation of backend services, and help build a culture of collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.

As a Software Engineer on this team, you will:

  • Build and maintain new services to support Prime Video teams.
  • Track and analyze customer journey data.
  • Own service design, implementation, and roadmap planning.
  • Collaborate across multiple teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain backend services and data pipelines to support customer experience.
  • Build new features and enhance existing services.
  • Lead system architecture and scaling discussions.

  • Communicate project roadmaps and progress to management and stakeholders.
  • Maintain high quality standards and operational excellence.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 1+ year of professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language.
  • Understanding of computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple layers of complexity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing backend web services and distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of low-level networking protocols.
  • Experience with high-throughput, multi-threaded systems and 24×7 critical systems.
  • Hands-on expertise spanning front-end to back-end technologies.
  • Familiarity with professional software engineering best practices: coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $143K – $194K/year (Colorado).
