Role Overview

Google is seeking versatile Full Stack Software Engineers for the Core team, responsible for building and maintaining the technical foundation of Google’s flagship products. Engineers will work across the full stack, designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software that supports billions of users. The role emphasizes scalable systems, performance, and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write development code for products or systems.
  • Participate in or lead design reviews to select appropriate technologies.
  • Review code from peers, ensuring best practices (style, testability, efficiency).
  • Contribute to documentation and educational content; update materials based on product changes.
  • Debug and resolve system or product issues, including impacts on hardware, network, or services.
  • Work on projects critical to Google’s needs, with opportunities to switch teams and technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of programming experience in Java or C++.
  • 2+ years of programming experience in JavaScript or TypeScript.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with large-scale systems, performance analysis, data visualization, or debugging.
  • Experience in data structures, algorithms, and accessible technology development.
  • Proficiency in software test engineering, system health, and resolution.
