Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer II (C++, Python) to join our team in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. This role involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems, including processing-intensive analytics, real-time systems, large-scale data processing, and advanced algorithm development.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Linux environments, Python, and C++, along with the ability to work independently or collaboratively in mission-critical environments. Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance is required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance specifications
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain complex software systems
  • Debug and resolve software defects and performance issues
  • Integrate existing software into new or modified environments
  • Develop database queries and interfaces for data repositories
  • Implement algorithms meeting strict timing and performance constraints
  • Provide technical leadership and oversee development teams when required
  • Collaborate with system engineers and hardware engineers to define requirements
  • Support software installation and monitor system performance
  • Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives

Required Skills

  • Strong programming experience in C++ and Python
  • Experience working in a Linux/Unix development environment
  • Software development lifecycle (SDLC) knowledge and methodologies
  • Ability to design and implement scalable, high-performance solutions

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with DSP (Digital Signal Processing) or RF (Radio Frequency) technologies
  • Experience with large-scale data processing or real-time systems

Qualifications

  • 14+ years of Software Engineering experience on programs of similar scope and complexity
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience substitution)
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required

Salary & Benefits

  • $200,000 – $240,000 annually (based on experience and contractual factors)
