Job Summary

Amazon Prime Video is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to help create the best in-home and in-car entertainment experiences on Fire TV. This role involves designing and building Android & React Native applications and integrating with AWS backend services.

Fire TV drives over 21% of monthly active Prime Video users globally, reaching tens of millions of customers. You will work on a confidential new product, collaborating across multiple teams and services to deliver an innovative experience. The ideal candidate is an innovative self-starter capable of contributing both as an individual and a technical lead.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop scalable, distributed software solutions and implement best practices.
  • Choose appropriate technologies and design features that delight customers.
  • Drive the architecture, testing, and documentation of software systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality video experiences.
  • Operate with flexibility and ownership in ambiguous environments, rapidly prototyping solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to peers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 1+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language.
  • Strong technical communication skills for peers and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in designing and implementing large-scale software solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in Android, React, or React Native application development.
  • Familiarity with modern programming languages: Java, JavaScript, C++, Python, Kotlin.
  • Experience with software architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and influence large-scale software systems.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Pay: $110K – $160K/year (Colorado)
  • Total Compensation: $160K – $230K/year (including sign-on bonus and RSUs)
