As a Software Development Engineer Intern, you will leverage modern technology to tackle complex problems and see the direct impact of your work. You will design, build, and operate scalable software systems, working collaboratively in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
🌟 Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to design, build, and operate innovative products.
- Develop scalable solutions using cloud-native architectures and microservices in distributed computing environments.
- Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and operational support.
- Build and maintain resilient distributed systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, and cost-effective.
- Leverage GenAI and AI-powered tools to enhance development productivity.
- Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and design patterns.
- Work in an agile environment, practicing CI/CD principles and operational responsibilities.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues to demonstrate operational excellence.
💼 Basic Qualifications
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related STEM fields.
- Expected graduation date between October 2026 – September 2029.
- U.S. citizen or eligible military service member/spouse.

- Experience with data structure implementation, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
- Previous technical internship or project experience.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

💰 Compensation
Annualized salary ranges by location:
- CA, San Francisco / Santa Clara: $122,600 – $185,000
- CO, Denver: $110,500 – $160,000
- MA, Boston: $110,500 – $160,000
- NJ, Jersey City: $121,600 – $180,600
- NY, Brooklyn / New York: $121,600 – $180,600
- VA, Arlington: $110,500 – $160,000
- WA, Bellevue / Seattle: $110,500 – $160,000
