As a Software Development Engineer, you will develop features that deliver speech-backed visuals and innovative experiences to millions of Alexa users. You will design, implement, and maintain systems that ensure fast, reliable, and scalable interactions at Amazon scale. If you are passionate about voice-first technology, multimodal interfaces, and Gen AI, this role is for you.

🌟 Key Responsibilities

  • Build software integrating Alexa voice and multi-modal services into applications running on millions of devices.
  • Design and maintain new systems while partnering with internal Amazon and third-party teams.
  • Champion engineering best practices: operational excellence, security, code quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Optimize for energy and memory efficiency, reducing customer costs and environmental impact.
  • Adopt and integrate Gen AI tools across the software development lifecycle: design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Mentor and contribute to the growth of team members through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and best practices.

💼 Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of design or architecture experience (system design patterns, reliability, scaling).
  • Experience programming in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# with object-oriented design.
  • Ability to design and architect new and existing systems with a focus on scalability and reliability.

🔹 Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Experience implementing innovative voice-first or multimodal applications.
  • Passion for emerging technologies, AI/Gen AI, and scalable systems.
