About the Role:
As a Social Service Representative, you will be on the front lines of helping individuals and families access critical services and support. This role involves assisting clients in navigating public assistance programs, housing, healthcare, employment resources, and crisis intervention services. You will be part of a compassionate team working to promote stability, dignity, and self-sufficiency for underserved communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interview clients to assess needs and eligibility for public or social assistance programs (e.g., SNAP, Medicaid, housing assistance)
  • Provide information, referrals, and guidance for services such as mental health counseling, employment, childcare, elder care, and more
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and case notes
  • Assist in completing applications, forms, and required documentation for social services
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and external service providers, agencies, or community organizations
  • Monitor client progress and conduct follow-up to ensure continued support and resolution of issues
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements
  • Support outreach efforts and educational workshops as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or related field preferred
  • 1–2 years of experience in a social service or client-facing support role (internship or volunteer experience may qualify)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and individuals experiencing crisis or trauma
  • Proficiency with basic computer software and electronic case management systems
  • Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish, Hindi, Arabic, Mandarin) a plus in some locations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) or related field
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal assistance programs
  • Certification in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, or case management
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations such as the elderly, immigrants, refugees, veterans, or homeless individuals
