Overview

The SEO Manager will be experienced in data-driven SEO strategies, possess deep knowledge of all functional areas of SEO, and excel at managing a team. This role has ownership of individual client accounts in the legal, medical, and dental industries and works closely with multiple SEO team members and internal departments to manage SEO direction and performance. The SEO Manager provides leadership for organic campaigns, including local SEO, technical SEO, and content, while monitoring performance and supporting the growth and development of SEO team members. This is a full-time, fully remote position.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience across technical SEO, on-page SEO, off-page SEO, and content strategy
  • Strong understanding of website architecture, analytics, and organic performance metrics
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor SEO team members
  • Experience working with multiple client accounts
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams, freelancers, and vendors
  • Experience with SEO tools, analytics dashboards, and reporting
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Strategy & Execution

  • Research and analyze competitor websites and digital presence
  • Build technical SEO audits and evaluate impact versus effort
  • Analyze website traffic and performance data to identify SEO issues
  • Review websites to identify organic performance improvement opportunities
  • Develop on-site SEO strategies including schema, URL structure, taxonomy, and title optimization
  • Create content strategies using full-funnel and content clustering approaches
  • Develop off-site SEO strategies including local SEO and link building

Collaboration

  • Provide SEO consulting and support to Account Managers
  • Communicate project timelines, development, and results with teams
  • Work with and oversee freelancers and vendors
  • Collaborate with Marketing Director and Director of Operations on SEO tools and processes

Training & Development

  • Deliver internal and external SEO training
  • Educate clients on SEO best practices when requested
  • Participate in the development of internal SEO policies and standards
  • Train and mentor SEO Specialists

Reporting & Performance

  • Monitor and evaluate analytics dashboards and reports
  • Assist in developing tracking solutions aligned with KPIs
  • Analyze and resolve SEO-related account issues
  • Optimize SEO strategies to achieve business goals
  • Prepare and present strategic insights and client reports

Leadership & Team Growth

  • Set team goals aligned with organizational objectives
  • Support product and service development with leadership
  • Act as a mentor and industry resource
  • Encourage knowledge sharing and skill development
  • Conduct performance reviews and regular check-ins
  • Address team feedback, concerns, and growth plans
