Role Overview

Expansion Desk is seeking a Senior Web Developer specializing in WordPress and Shopify for a fully remote role. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and optimize websites with a focus on performance, UX, and conversions. You will collaborate with designers, content creators, and developers while taking ownership of projects from concept to launch.

Core Responsibilities

Technical Expertise

  • Advanced proficiency in WordPress, Shopify, or Webflow.
  • Build custom, modern, conversion-focused websites (beyond templates).
  • Strong knowledge of UI/UX, responsive design, animations, and mobile optimization.
  • Integrate forms, scheduling tools, CRMs, analytics, tracking pixels, and automations.
  • Optimize websites for SEO, speed, technical hygiene, schema, and site structure.
  • Handle hosting, DNS, migrations, backups, and security best practices.

Design & Branding

  • Translate brand guidelines into clean, premium visual layouts.
  • Skilled in Figma, Adobe XD, or similar design tools for mockups and revisions.

Project Execution

  • Independently manage projects from concept → wireframe → build → launch.
  • Maintain documentation, SOPs, and revision tracking.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, manage deadlines, and handle revisions efficiently.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in WordPress and Shopify development.
  • Strong understanding of modern web design principles and SEO fundamentals.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Portfolio showcasing custom website builds and web projects.
