This role sits within Walmart International & Omni Tech, supporting global commerce platforms across 5,900+ retail units in 26 countries.
The team builds scalable distributed systems that improve the shopping experience for millions of customers worldwide.

Role Overview

The position focuses mainly on backend engineering (70%) with frontend development (30%).

You’ll build enterprise-scale microservices and web applications that power Walmart’s international retail platforms.

You’ll also help guide a small engineering team (4–8 developers) while contributing to architecture and technical decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Stack Development

• Build scalable applications using:
  • Java
  • Spring Boot
  • React
  • Node.js
  • Kafka
• Design and maintain APIs, microservices, and web interfaces.

System Architecture

• Work with cloud platforms and distributed systems.
• Design solutions focused on reliability, scalability, and performance.

Team Leadership

• Mentor engineers through:
  • code reviews
  • pair programming
  • architectural discussions

Collaboration

Work closely with:

• Product managers
• UX designers
• Architects
• Global engineering teams

Operations & Stability

• Monitor production systems
• Investigate performance issues
• Improve engineering workflows and automation

• 8+ years software engineering experience
