Senior Software Engineer / Ed-Tech / React Full-Stack / NYC

Job Description

I’m working with a seed funded early stage startup in the ed-tech space; a vertical SaaS platform acting as a scholarship award platform utilized by schools and prospective students. The platform aims to simplify how students find and get scholarships, and how faculty/admin can allocate unspent resources toward this.

They’re currently live in 13 schools, with multiple large scale contracts set up. They just closed $2.5M in funding and have plenty of runway. They’re looking for a full-stack engineer who has experience in both early stage startups, and scaling environments. This role is hybrid with an on-site focus. Ideally 3-4 days in office in the financial district.

Required Skills & Experience:
• CS degree from a top tier university
• 5-10 years of professional experience
• Working end-to-end on complex projects from scratch
• React.js
• Next.js
• TypeScript
• Python, Node.js, or Go
• AWS

What You Will be Doing Tech Breakdown:
• 50% Front-End (TypeScript, React, Next.js)
• 50% Backend (Python, AWS, APIs)

Daily Responsibilities:
• 70% hands-on development, building full-stack web applications and SaaS services
• 20% collaborating with product, design, and customers to iterate on solutions
• 10% researching and implementing best practices for performance and scalability
