Position Purpose

The Senior Manager, Organizational Development (OD) plays a critical role in partnering with business leaders and HR teams to design and implement organizational development strategies aligned with business objectives. Acting as a trusted internal consultant, this role assesses gaps between the current and future state of the organization and leads initiatives that optimize organizational structure, workforce capabilities, leadership effectiveness, and performance outcomes.

This role is instrumental in advancing skills-based job architecture, organization design, change management, and adoption strategies, ensuring the organization remains agile, scalable, and aligned with long-term business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Business Strategy & Stakeholder Partnership (20%)

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and consultant to senior leaders and HR Business Partners
  • Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders to align business strategy with organizational structure, leadership, and culture
  • Identify future-state success metrics and recommend best-fit organizational development solutions
  • Design and facilitate leadership workshops, planning sessions, and executive offsites to drive alignment and decision-making

Organization Design & Planning (50%)

  • Lead enterprise and function-level organization design initiatives
  • Conduct discovery and analysis using qualitative and quantitative data (structure, workflows, roles, processes)
  • Facilitate stakeholder feedback and translate insights into future-state organization models
  • Drive skills-based job architecture and role framework development
  • Perform organizational benchmarking against industry standards and best-fit models
  • Develop supporting deliverables including:
    • Organizational charts
    • Governance and operating models
    • Role frameworks and process maps

Change Management & Communications (20%)

  • Conduct change impact assessments and readiness evaluations
  • Develop communication strategies and materials to support leadership and employee transitions
  • Partner with learning, communications, compensation, talent acquisition, and HR teams to enable effective implementation
  • Advise leaders on best practices to lead through organizational change

Implementation & Adoption Support (10%)

  • Facilitate adoption of new organizational structures and ways of working
  • Lead workshops and learning interventions to support transition
  • Track and evaluate post-implementation success metrics
  • Partner with business leaders and HR to refine solutions and ensure sustained adoption

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Primarily office-based, seated work with regular mobility
  • Occasional light lifting may be required
  • Comfortable indoor work environment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, I/O Psychology, Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in organizational design (strongly preferred)
  • Proven success leading organization design and large-scale change initiatives in complex, matrixed environments
  • Experience facilitating executive-level meetings, leadership offsites, and enterprise workshops
  • Certification in Organization Design and/or Change Management (e.g., PROSCI) preferred
  • Experience with organizational benchmarking and data-driven decision making
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and drive adoption of new operating models
  • Proficiency with organization design and visualization tools (Visio, OrgVue, Lucidchart)
  • Master’s degree in Organizational Development, I/O Psychology, HR, Business, or related field
