Salary Range: $107,900 – $195,050

Role Overview

As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will support SSA’s Digital Modernization Strategy, building enterprise APIs and modern responsive user interfaces. Your work will directly impact 65+ million Americans per month, helping the Social Security Administration meet evolving public needs.

The role combines hands-on coding, mentoring, and leadership responsibilities in a high-performing Agile team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular 9+, REST APIs
  • Build microservices and develop database components with PostgreSQL or Oracle
  • Collaborate with product design, engineering teams, and participate in all Agile ceremonies
  • Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance
  • Implement DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and work with Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket
  • Leverage cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Follow best practices like Twelve-Factor App methodology and modern architecture patterns
  • Contribute to modernization of legacy systems where applicable

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years programming and designing software in Java
  • 8+ years experience on Agile teams (preferably SAFe)
  • Hands-on experience with Angular (9+), Java, Spring Boot, and REST API
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance
