Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Front-End Developer to implement component-based, responsive web interfaces for the HUD Office of the CIO. You will work with AI/ML proofs of concept, develop accessible USWDS-compliant applications, and collaborate with back-end, DevOps, and data teams to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable front-end solutions.
Responsibilities
- Build responsive web applications with React, HTML, CSS, and modern frameworks
- Integrate AI-driven features as directed by design and data science teams
- Collaborate with UX designers to implement accessibility standards (Section 508) and design systems
- Participate in CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and iterative development
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain front-end applications for performance and scalability
- Document code and components for HUD governance and AI inventory updates
Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of front-end development experience with React.js, HTML, and CSS
- Expertise in React and TypeScript
- Knowledge of component-based design, responsive layouts, and accessibility standards (USWDS, Section 508, WCAG AA)
- Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, RTL, Cypress), performance (Web Vitals), and security (OWASP, CSP)
- Experience with micro frontends, shared component libraries, and Storybook
- State/data management using Redux/RTK Query, GraphQL; REST/GraphQL integration
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
- US work authorization without sponsorship, ability to pass federal background check & NACI clearance
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting federal government environments, especially HUD OCIO
- AI/ML integration into front-end interfaces
- Knowledge of other JS frameworks (Angular, Vue) and cloud deployment (AWS Amplify, Azure Static Web Apps)
Education
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Front-end certifications (React, JavaScript frameworks, Web Dev Bootcamp) preferred
