Job Description

About the Role:
We are looking for a highly experienced and strategic Lead Data Scientist to join our data-driven innovation team. In this role, you will lead the development and deployment of end-to-end machine learning solutions that drive high-impact business outcomes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior data scientists, and provide thought leadership in applying advanced analytics to complex problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of machine learning and statistical models for predictive, prescriptive, and diagnostic analytics
  • Translate business challenges into data science problems and drive measurable impact through technical solutions
  • Guide architecture decisions for scalable model deployment (batch, real-time, streaming)
  • Collaborate with data engineers, product managers, and domain experts to shape data strategy and execution
  • Communicate findings and insights to executive stakeholders with clarity and business context
  • Manage and mentor a team of data scientists, providing technical direction and career guidance
  • Drive best practices in model development, experimentation, testing, and MLOps (monitoring, versioning, CI/CD)

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in data science or machine learning roles, with 2+ years of leadership or team lead experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, and ML libraries such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, PyTorch
  • Deep understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning, time series forecasting, and statistical modeling
  • Strong experience working with large-scale data and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Proven ability to lead complex analytics initiatives from ideation to production

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in MLOps tools (MLflow, Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of business domains such as e-commerce, finance, healthcare, or manufacturing
  • Exposure to advanced topics such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, generative AI, or explainable AI
  • Strong stakeholder management and storytelling skills with a track record of delivering business impact
