About the Role
The Senior Data Center PMS (Power Monitoring Systems) Engineer will support hyperscale data center clients by augmenting engineering teams across design, construction, and operations. This role focuses on power monitoring systems, SCADA integration, construction issue resolution, and reliability improvements across large-scale campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and support technical development of Power Monitoring Systems (PMS) for hyperscale data centers, including campus planning and design compliance.
- Assist with SCADA system development and vendor compliance evaluations.
- Oversee A/E consultants and perform peer reviews of deliverables (drawings, specifications, calculations, models).
- Identify and recommend value engineering opportunities to improve efficiency and cost.
- Develop conceptual sketches using CAD/BIM tools for visualization and validation.
- Lead projects addressing controls issues, outages, and fleetwide improvements across operational campuses.
- Analyze post-mortem reports and root cause analyses to enhance infrastructure reliability.
- Review operational data trends to assess equipment health, lifecycle, and predictive failures.
- Collaborate with construction, design, and change management teams to resolve engineering issues and improve standards.
- Support engineering bulletins and presentations to communicate design improvements across stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with 8–10 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Strong knowledge of mission-critical facilities design and construction.
- Experience specifying electrical infrastructure such as:
- Switchgear, switchboards, panelboards
- Cables and monitoring equipment
- Generators, UPS, transformers, VFDs
- Experience with power system analysis software.
- Proficiency with CAD or BIM drafting tools.
- Understanding of multidisciplinary coordination (civil, structural, mechanical, IT/telecom, security).
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and strong problem-solving ability.
