Salary Range: $178,400 – $226,700 per year

About the Role

Amazon is seeking multiple Security Engineer III professionals to join the Specialized Businesses Security (SBS) organization. In this role, you will conduct Red Teaming operations, identify complex system vulnerabilities, and develop offensive security tools to help safeguard Amazon’s services, products, and applications. You will also mentor junior Red Team resources and provide actionable insights to engineering teams to mitigate risks.

This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Red Teaming operations to identify vulnerabilities and misconfigurations in systems, services, applications, and products.
  • Document findings and insights clearly for engineering teams to mitigate risk effectively.
  • Mentor and support junior Red Team members.
  • Develop and maintain offensive security tooling to streamline operations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve overall security posture.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Systems, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in the offered role or a related occupation.
  • 3+ years of experience in:
    • Red Teaming
    • Secure software development
    • Application vulnerability identification or assessment
    • Penetration testing
    • Code analysis
    • Technical writing
    • Developing scripts or tooling to streamline offensive security operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience mentoring junior security engineers.
  • Strong understanding of offensive security methodologies and best practices.
