🔹 Role Overview

We are looking for an SDE II – Backend Developer to join our core engineering team. You’ll work on production backend systems that affect thousands of users, collaborating closely with the CTO and senior engineers. This role is high-impact and growth-oriented, offering exposure to large-scale system design, performance optimization, and backend operations.

🔹 Key Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and improve backend services in production
  • Own backend features from development through deployment, with team support
  • Optimize database queries and backend workflows
  • Contribute to discussions on performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Participate in code reviews and improve engineering quality
  • Debug and resolve production issues
  • Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and engineering teams for feature execution

🔹 Required Skills (Must-Have)

  • Node.js and Express.js experience
  • TypeScript experience
  • Working knowledge of PostgreSQL
  • Proficiency with Git / GitHub
  • Experience building backend services or APIs
  • Familiarity with caching, async systems, and backend optimization
  • Ability to reason about backend systems in production environments

🔹 Good To Have (Bonus)

  • Experience with Redis or other caching systems
  • Experience with WebSockets
  • Exposure to WebRTC
  • Familiarity with real-time or event-driven backend systems

🔹 Technology & Learning Expectations

  • Prior experience with every tool in our stack is not required
  • Focus is on:

    • Ability to understand unfamiliar codebases with guidance
    • Strong backend fundamentals that transfer across stacks
