About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Roadway Civil Engineer to join our infrastructure and transportation design team. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, design, and development of roadway and highway projects in compliance with local, state, and national engineering standards.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including transportation planners, surveyors, environmental specialists, and construction managers to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable roadway systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and prepare plans for roadways, intersections, drainage, grading, and pavement systems
- Perform geometric and horizontal/vertical alignment design for streets, highways, and arterials
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, design drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates
- Coordinate with public agencies, clients, and utility companies for permitting and design reviews
- Conduct site visits, field reviews, and assist in construction support and project inspection
- Use civil engineering design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads/OpenRoads
- Ensure projects comply with applicable design standards (e.g., AASHTO, IRC, MoRTH, FHWA, etc.)
- Manage junior engineers and support staff on project deliverables and quality assurance
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree preferred for senior roles)
- 3–10+ years of experience in roadway/highway design or civil infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in roadway design software such as Civil 3D, MicroStation, or OpenRoads
- Strong understanding of geometric design, grading, drainage, and right-of-way design
- Knowledge of relevant design standards, safety codes, and construction methods
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in interdisciplinary project teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent (e.g., P.Eng., Chartered Engineer, RCE)
- Experience working with DOTs or highway authorities (e.g., NHAI, TxDOT, Caltrans, etc.)
- Familiarity with traffic modeling tools (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM) or hydraulic software (e.g., HEC-RAS)
- Project management experience including budgets, schedules, and client coordination
- LEED, PMP, or other relevant certifications are a plus
