Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Remote Python Engineer to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will help design, develop, and maintain backend systems and data-driven applications that power our health technology platform. This position is ideal for developers who enjoy flexible schedules while working on meaningful healthcare projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Python
  • Build and optimize APIs for healthcare applications
  • Work with databases to design efficient data models and queries
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers remotely
  • Integrate third-party services, tools, and healthcare data sources
  • Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance
  • Follow best practices for data security and compliance in healthcare systems

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Python
  • Experience with backend frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs
  • Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Git and version control workflows
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in Health Tech, MedTech, or healthcare software
  • Knowledge of data processing, analytics, or machine learning pipelines
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Understanding of healthcare data standards or compliance (HIPAA, HL7, FHIR)
  • Prior startup experience is a plus
