As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will ensure claims are processed correctly, billing data is accurate, and all procedures comply with current healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review patient records, diagnosis codes, and insurance details to submit accurate medical claims
- Verify billing information and coding accuracy using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS standards
- Follow up with insurance companies regarding claim status, payments, and denials
- Resolve billing discrepancies, coding errors, and missing documentation issues
- Maintain organized records of claims, payments, rejections, and appeals
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, payer guidelines, and billing standards
- Communicate with healthcare providers to obtain required billing documentation
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Medical Billing, Medical Coding, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- 1–2 years of experience in medical billing, coding, or healthcare administration preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software and MS Office (Excel, Word)
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a remote environment
Experience
- Preferred: Minimum 1 year of experience in medical billing or coding
- Freshers welcome: Candidates with relevant certification or training in medical billing and coding may apply
Working Hours
- Full-time: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (IST)
- Remote role with flexible scheduling within the standard workweek
