As an Instructor for the Applied Generative AI Specialization, you will deliver high-impact instruction, mentor learners, and guide them in applying AI and generative technologies to solve real-world problems.

About the Role

We are seeking experienced AI, Machine Learning, and Data Science professionals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring adult learners. In this part-time, remote role, you will teach selected sessions from the Applied AI curriculum, support learner progress, and help students master practical applications of modern AI and Generative AI technologies.

This role is open to candidates located in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Learner Engagement

• Deliver assigned live sessions in alignment with Simplilearn’s curriculum, learning objectives, and session plans
• Create a positive, inclusive, and professional learning environment for adult learners
• Apply proven adult-learning strategies, instructional best practices, and technology tools
• Connect course concepts to real-world applications by sharing industry insights and professional experience

Student Support & Communication

• Maintain regular communication with learners to align on expectations, progress, and milestones
• Provide individualized learner support:
  • During live class sessions
  • Through scheduled office hours
  • Asynchronously via timely written communication
• Address learner concerns proactively and support student retention and satisfaction

Assessment & Feedback

• Evaluate learner performance based on course deliverables and established rubrics
• Provide constructive, timely, and actionable feedback
• Assist with Performance Action Plans (PAPs) for learners requiring additional support

Professionalism & Brand Ambassadorship

• Serve as a role model and ambassador for Simplilearn
• Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and ethical conduct when engaging with students, staff, and the public
• Foster collaboration, teamwork, and continuous improvement
• Encourage feedback and contribute to an engaging classroom culture

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years of industry experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Data Science
• Hands-on experience building, deploying, or fine-tuning AI/ML models
• Strong understanding of core AI/ML concepts, including:
  • Supervised and unsupervised learning
  • Deep learning architectures (CNNs, RNNs, LLMs)
• Proficiency with modern frameworks and tools:
  • TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn
  • Python and data libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib)
• Practical experience with:
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Computer Vision
  • Transfer learning and pre-trained models

Generative AI Expertise (Highly Valued)

• Familiarity with Generative AI models such as:
  • GPT, BERT, Stable Diffusion
• Experience with advanced techniques including:
  • Transformers
  • Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF)
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Prompt engineering
• Applied experience using AI for business or research use cases

Teaching & Communication Skills

• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to simplify complex AI concepts for diverse, non-technical audiences
• Passion for teaching, mentoring, and staying current with emerging AI trends
• Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience in academic or corporate settings

Education & Credentials (Preferred)

• Advanced degree (MTech, MS, or PhD) in:
  • Computer Science
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Data Science or related fields
• Relevant AI, ML, or Data Science certifications
