About the Role

The Elite Job is looking for a self-motivated Remote Freelance Web Developer specializing in WordPress, HTML, and CSS. You’ll work independently to design, develop, and maintain responsive, user-friendly websites for a diverse range of clients. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong communication skills for collaborating remotely with project managers, designers, and content creators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
  • Convert design mockups and wireframes into fully functional responsive websites
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve website issues efficiently
  • Optimize website performance, including page load speeds and SEO best practices
  • Implement plugins, APIs, and custom features per project requirements
  • Document development processes, code changes, and project updates
  • Provide technical guidance to clients and internal teams when needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong portfolio showcasing WordPress, HTML, and CSS projects
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery
  • Experience with WordPress theme development and customization
  • PHP and MySQL knowledge for backend WordPress development
  • Familiarity with responsive/adaptive design principles
  • Experience with Git or other version control tools
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Basic SEO knowledge and website optimization skills

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of professional freelance or in-house web development
  • Prior remote project experience is a strong plus
  • Exposure to diverse industries and client requirements preferred
