About the Role

We are looking for a Remote Backend Intern to work on real-world web applications. You will help develop, maintain, and optimize server-side logic while collaborating with frontend developers, database architects, and other stakeholders. Our company emphasizes first principles and core computer science fundamentals like databases and operating systems.

This internship provides hands-on backend development experience, exposure to server-side programming, and a potential full-time job offer based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend services for web applications.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers and database architects to integrate front-end and back-end components.
  • Ensure performance, security, and reliability of server-side logic.
  • Work with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and web servers (Apache, Nginx).
  • Implement security measures, including rate limiting, reverse proxies, and other best practices.
  • Use ORMs like Prisma for database interaction.
  • Participate in code versioning and deployment processes using Git.
  • Troubleshoot backend issues and optimize server performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of server-side programming languages, particularly Python.
  • Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and web servers.
  • Familiarity with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for collaboration.
  • Understanding of data protection and security principles.
  • Experience with ORMs such as Prisma.
  • Familiarity with Git and deployment workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field, or equivalent experience.
