The San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department is now hiring a passionate, energetic, and organized Recreation Specialist (3283) to join our Teen Navigation Summer Camp program. This is your chance to lead meaningful programs for teens, explore the city, and help build future leaders—all while working outdoors and in a team-focused environment.

🛠️ What You’ll Do:

• Plan and lead daily recreational, educational, and enrichment activities
• Supervise groups of teens ages 13–17 during field trips, games, and workshops
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment
• Support personal development, leadership, and teamwork among campers
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and emergency procedures
• Collaborate with fellow staff and report program feedback

✅ Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with teens or in youth development settings
• Knowledge of recreational programming or urban outdoor education
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to complete training)
• Ability to lead group activities and manage diverse personalities

💰 Compensation & Schedule:

• Hourly Pay: $28–$32/hour (DOE)
• Full-time, seasonal schedule (June–August)
• Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• Paid training sessions prior to camp launch
• City employment benefits for seasonal staff
