Our mission is to bridge human creativity with artificial intelligence—reinventing the advertising lifecycle from ad creation and personalization to optimization, performance insights, and contextual discovery. We build responsible, intelligent AI systems that enhance customer experiences while driving meaningful monetization for advertisers.

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Principal Product Manager – Technical (PMT) to lead the strategy and execution of highly personalized, context-aware advertising experiences across key shopping surfaces, including:

  • Product Detail Pages (PDPs)
  • Homepage
  • Store-in-Store experiences
  • Event and seasonal destinations

You will define and deliver scalable ad experiences that dynamically adapt to customer intent, integrate seamlessly with organic recommendations (e.g., new arrivals, basket-building content, fast-delivery signals), and drive monetization without compromising customer trust.

This role requires strong technical depth, strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and executive-level influence.

Key Responsibilities

Product Vision & Strategy

  • Define and execute the long-term vision for differentiated, context-aware ad experiences
  • Deliver customized advertising experiences tailored to page context and customer cohorts

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner closely with Stores, Ads, Science, and Engineering teams
  • Drive prioritization and feature execution across multiple organizations
  • Lead engineering discussions on architectural decisions, scalability, and AI-driven personalization

Customer Obsession & Working Backwards

  • Author and present Working Backwards documents (PRFAQs, product narratives)
  • Define measurable customer experience and monetization outcomes
  • Balance tradeoffs across feature development, performance, and long-term platform investments

Executive Influence

  • Proactively communicate product vision and progress to senior leadership
  • Align initiatives with Amazon Leadership Principles
  • Influence stakeholders across multiple organizations to drive alignment and execution

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 2+ years of end-to-end product delivery experience
  • Experience owning and driving product roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience leading engineering discussions around technical decisions
  • Experience managing feature tradeoffs and delivering complex products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Experience in online advertising, search, personalization, recommendation systems, or e-commerce
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
  • Proven track record of delivering results in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
  • Experience building AI-driven or machine learning-powered products
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building new businesses
