Job Description
About CourseCareers
CourseCareers is an online education platform that helps people launch new careers without a college degree or prior experience.
We partner with experienced industry professionals to build job-focused, employer-aligned courses across technology, business, construction, and the trades. Our students are career changers pursuing realistic, entry-level roles—and coaching plays a key role in helping them transition from coursework to employment.
About the Role
CourseCareers is seeking a Part-Time Construction Estimating Career Coach to support students through live workshops and optional 1:1 coaching.
This is not a traditional employment role and does not guarantee recurring income. It is a flexible, paid opportunity designed for experienced construction estimators who enjoy mentoring, teaching, and helping others break into the field—with upside based on student engagement.
How This Role Works
- Host a live, one-hour seminar-style workshop for students
- Receive $50 per workshop (paid regardless of conversion)
- Workshops are designed to provide value, answer questions, and showcase your expertise
- Students may choose to book you for optional 1:1 coaching
- You keep 100% of the coaching revenue
- You set your own availability and working hours
- High-performing coaches may receive exclusive coaching opportunities
There is no requirement to convert students, but conversion is where the upside exists.
Responsibilities
- Host one live, one-hour workshop per month
- Answer student questions related to construction estimating and job readiness
- Share real-world insight into entry-level estimating roles
- Explain estimating workflows used by GCs, subcontractors, and specialty trades
- Discuss tools, processes, and workplace expectations
- Provide optional 1:1 coaching to interested students
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional construction estimating experience
- Experience with GCs, subcontractors, or specialty trades (e.g., concrete, electrical, mechanical, roofing)
- Familiarity with estimating tools such as Excel, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, ProEst, or similar
- Strong understanding of entry-level roles (Estimating Assistant, Junior Estimator, Project Coordinator)
- Clear communication and teaching ability
- Interest in mentoring career changers
- Comfortable leading workshops independently
- Availability at least three evenings per week, ideally Tuesday–Thursday
