About the Role
As a Network Install Technician, you will play a hands-on role in building and maintaining AWS’s world-class data center infrastructure. You will install enterprise hardware, deploy fiber and copper cabling, and ensure network stability and scalability across AWS facilities.
This role requires technical precision, physical readiness, and a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and deploy large-scale enterprise networking equipment
- Run and terminate fiber and copper cabling
- Patch cabling between network and hardware equipment
- Follow established installation procedures and perform break-fix activities
- Maintain strict safety and security standards during rack and cabling installations
- Safely operate material handling tools and equipment
- Travel within and outside the regional work area as required
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds regularly (group lifts required for 41+ pounds)
- Work in 24/7 operational environments with participation in on-call rotations
- Work in cramped, elevated, and/or noisy environments
- Stand, bend, stretch, reach, and walk for 8+ hours per shift
- Safely ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways
Travel & Location Requirements
- Must be able to travel over 50 miles or commute under 50 miles to active data center sites
- May temporarily work at alternate locations for training
- Assigned facilities may still be under development

Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year of experience in technical or vocational roles such as:
- Computer Hardware Repair
- Infrastructure Cabling
- Network Deployment
- Data Center Operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of fiber optic types, copper cabling standards, and testing equipment
- Industry certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+)
- Experience with cabling best practices and infrastructure methodologies
