Job Overview:
Linchpin is seeking an experienced Lead PHP Developer to spearhead both internal and client-facing WordPress projects. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll not only develop advanced features but also help nurture a culture of self-motivation, growth, and technical excellence. The ideal candidate thrives in team environments, communicates effectively, and takes personal responsibility for project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new WordPress features, plugins, and advanced theme components.
- Build internal tools to support Linchpin’s operations and clients.
- Plan, estimate, and execute projects collaboratively from concept through QA.
- Integrate with 3rd party APIs, ensuring performance, reliability, and security.
- Implement and maintain WordPress security best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Advanced PHP knowledge with hands-on experience in LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP).
- Strong object-oriented programming (OOP) skills and understanding of MVC architecture.
- Proven experience coding WordPress plugins and themes according to industry best practices.
- Solid understanding of modern JavaScript (ES2015+, webpack, Babel).
- Proficiency with Git for version control and collaborative development.
- Knowledge of security best practices in WordPress development.
Preferred / Bonus Skills:
- CSS preprocessors: Sass or PostCSS.
- Responsive frameworks like Foundation, Bulma, etc.
- Experience with React (optional but beneficial).
- Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Experience with testing, CI/CD practices, and creating WordPress Blocks.
- Prior work with 3rd party API integrations.
Candidate Profile:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and accountable for delivering results.
- Portfolio with at least 3 work examples, ideally including open-source contributions.
