Role Overview
This is a hands-on full stack development role within front-office technology, focused on systems supporting the investment management cycle. The engineer works closely with portfolio managers and stakeholders to build scalable, secure, and high-quality applications leveraging Python, Java, React/TypeScript, and AI/LLM tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with portfolio managers to develop portfolio construction and optimization applications.
- Understand data loads and processes for portfolio construction systems.
- Maintain, support, and enhance existing portfolio construction services and applications.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review/debug code from others.
- Identify and automate recurring operational issues to improve software stability.
- Participate in technology modernization initiatives, including moving services to AWS.
- Lead communities of practice to promote new technologies.
- Contribute to a team culture emphasizing diversity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of practical experience in software engineering.
- Hands-on expertise in Python, Java, and AI/LLM tools.
- UI development experience with React and TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of wealth management, portfolio management, and related analytics.
- Proficiency in automation, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security best practices.
- Deep understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Knowledge of agile methodologies and continuous delivery practices.
- Proven ability to deliver complex technical solutions across multiple areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cloud-native development experience (preferably AWS).
- Experience in leading technical communities or mentoring teams.
