About the Role

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a hands-on, quantitative full-stack engineer to join the front-office technology team within Asset & Wealth Management. This role combines software engineering, portfolio analytics, and AI/LLM technologies to deliver high-quality applications that support the full investment management lifecycle—from research and portfolio construction to investment execution.

As a lead engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain production systems, collaborate with portfolio managers, and drive technology modernization initiatives including migration to cloud-native solutions (AWS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with portfolio managers to develop portfolio construction and optimization applications.
  • Analyze and understand data loads and processes relevant to portfolio construction.
  • Maintain, support, and enhance existing portfolio construction services and applications.
  • Design and develop secure, high-quality production code; review and debug peer code.
  • Identify and automate recurring operational issues to improve stability and performance.
  • Contribute to technology modernization, including migration to AWS cloud services.
  • Lead and mentor teams in adopting new technologies, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Promote a culture of diversity, inclusion, collaboration, and respect within the engineering team.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training/certification.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, Java, React, and TypeScript.
  • Knowledge of AI/LLM tools and their integration into full-stack systems.
  • Strong UI development skills for complex, data-driven applications.
  • Understanding of portfolio and wealth management analytics.
  • Experience with automation, CI/CD pipelines, and agile methodologies.
  • Proficient across all aspects of the software development life cycle, including application resiliency and security.
  • Solid understanding of financial services IT systems and investment workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practical experience with cloud-native architectures.
  • Exposure to large-scale production systems in financial services.
