About the Role

We are seeking a Lead / Senior PHP Developer to join Ultima.school as a key technical contributor with the potential to grow into CTO. This is a flexible, fully remote position where you will shape the architecture, development processes, and growth of an international EdTech platform.

You will be instrumental in:

  • Building a high-impact EdTech product for Latin America
  • Designing and developing scalable application architecture
  • Implementing infrastructure, billing systems, LMS features, and CRM integrations
  • Leading, hiring, and mentoring a growing development team
  • Maintaining and evolving the technical infrastructure

Tech Stack

  • Backend: PHP 7+, Lumen / Laravel
  • Frontend: Vue.js
  • Databases: MySQL / PostgreSQL
  • DevOps & Tools: Git, Docker, Traefik
  • Potential for Stack Evolution – open to forming a new stack as needed

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience with PHP / Ruby / Python and JavaScript
  • Team management experience (3+ people)
  • Experience designing infrastructure: deployment, monitoring, maintenance
  • Understanding of modern frontend technologies
  • Strong problem-solving and architectural design skills
  • English proficiency for smooth communication with international colleagues
