About the Role

DevStart Labs is looking for a motivated Junior Web Developer Intern to join our remote team. This internship is ideal for students, recent graduates, or self-taught developers eager to gain hands-on experience in web development, work on live projects, and learn from experienced mentors.

You will assist in building and maintaining web applications, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and gain exposure to both front-end and back-end technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing, coding, and testing web applications under senior developers’ guidance.
  • Maintain and update websites and web apps for optimal functionality.
  • Implement new features to improve user experience.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices.
  • Debug and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Document development processes, code changes, and project progress.
  • Stay updated with emerging web technologies and frameworks.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks: React, Angular, or Vue.js (preferred).
  • Understanding of back-end technologies: Node.js, Express, or PHP (plus).
  • Exposure to databases: MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (Git).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team.

Experience

  • No prior professional experience required.
  • Internship, freelance projects, or personal web development projects are a plus.

Working Hours

  • Flexible remote schedule (approx. 20–30 hrs/week).
  • Potential to extend to full-time based on performance.
  • Must attend scheduled virtual team meetings.
