We are seeking an experienced Java Web Developer to join our team working on the State’s Member Management replacement project and other assigned initiatives. The role involves designing, developing, supporting, and implementing enterprise web-based applications with a focus on scalability, high availability, and responsive user interfaces.

This position is part of a Production Support group and reports to the Client Technical Project Manager, supporting all new technology development work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement enterprise web-based systems using modern Java frameworks (e.g., Spring).
  • Build responsive UIs with modern Web 2.0 technologies (AJAX), ensuring compatibility with smartphones and tablets.
  • Develop and maintain Java applications and incorporate industry-standard frameworks where appropriate.
  • Plan for highly available and scalable applications.
  • Integrate services into system designs where needed.
  • Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Assist end-users and business analysts in translating business requirements into incremental software development projects.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including business users, analysts, software engineers, DBAs, QA engineers, infrastructure staff, and support staff.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience with Tapestry.
  • 7+ years of experience with JavaScript and jQuery.
  • 7+ years of experience with EDI transactions.
  • 7+ years of experience with JDBC.
  • Strong proficiency in Java development.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with UC4 and ActiveMQ.
  • Experience with Unix variants and Unix scripting.
  • Experience with SQL and MongoDB.
  • Experience in Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS).

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
