Location: Roanoke, Texas
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $71 – $72 per hour
Work Hours: 8 AM – 5 PM
Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Java Full Stack Engineer to design, develop, and maintain highly scalable distributed systems and APIs. You will work with global teams to implement best practices in software engineering, leverage open-source technologies, and participate in building cutting-edge solutions for real customer needs.

Key Highlights:

  • Deep expertise in API design, versioning, isolation, and microservices.
  • Experience documenting APIs using frameworks like Swagger.
  • Hands-on with DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines, and tools including Maven, Jenkins, Stash, Ansible, and Docker.
  • Proficient in developing distributed systems with open-source technologies.
  • Experience with Junit, Mockito, Cucumber or equivalent testing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies like JSP, HTML, CSS/SASS, JQuery, Angular, NodeJS is a plus.
  • Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong collaborator with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Navigate complex and rapidly-changing technology landscapes while staying up-to-date with latest trends.
  • Build rapid prototypes and shippable products based on real customer feedback.
  • Act as a self-starter, challenge status quo, and ask “Why” and “What if?” questions.
  • Utilize CI/CD practices to minimize risk while delivering frequent updates (A/B testing, blue-green deployments, feature toggles).
  • Design and architect complex solutions for high-scale data processing platforms.
  • Mentor and guide team members on technology, architecture, and design best practices.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to define and deliver next-generation ecosystems.
  • Prototype and evaluate emerging technologies to assess business value and feasibility.
  • Develop and consume modern API services using open-source technologies.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in Java web services and API solutions.
  • Strong leadership and execution skills in fast-paced Agile environments.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical, customer-facing platforms.
  • Expertise in microservices, open-source streaming products, message-oriented middleware, and stream processing.
  • Proficient in AWS services: EKS, S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda, etc.
  • Strong technical skills in Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, Spring Core, and JavaScript.
