Job Description

Project: MemberPress WordPress Site Migration – Kinsta → Icelandic VPS
Location: Remote / Contractor
Timeline: ASAP start, ideal completion within 7–10 days

Project Overview

We are migrating a privacy-first WordPress site using MemberPress from Kinsta (Google Cloud) to a managed VPS in Iceland. The site currently has no traffic, making this an ideal moment for a secure, strategic migration in preparation for future self-hosting and advanced infrastructure.

Tech Stack

  • WordPress & MemberPress (subscriptions, webhooks, payment gateways)
  • Bunny.net (CDN / video delivery)
  • Cloudflare DNS & SSL management
  • ProtonMail (SMTP configuration)
  • Other WordPress plugins (TBD)

Key Tasks

  • Full WordPress files + database migration
  • Reconfigure MemberPress: license reactivation, payment gateway webhook testing
  • Reintegrate Bunny.net
  • Install & configure Let’s Encrypt SSL
  • Update Cloudflare DNS records and SSL settings
  • Ensure email deliverability (Postmark/SendGrid optional)
  • Harden VPS stack (UFW, fail2ban, PHP tuning)
  • Optional: prepare VPS for future self-hosting

Ideal Contractor Profile

  • Senior WordPress developer / sysadmin
  • MemberPress & gated content platform experience
  • Familiar with Bunny.net, Cloudflare, and SMTP/DNS setup
  • Comfortable on managed VPS environments (non-cPanel)
  • Bonus: Alignment with privacy, sovereignty, and open-source principles
