Job Description

About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated and intellectually curious Graduate Intern to join our Data Science team during the Spring 2025 term. As a Data Science Intern, you’ll work on real-world problems alongside experienced data scientists and engineers, contributing to impactful analytics, machine learning, and research initiatives. This is a hands-on opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to practical business use cases and deepen your skills in an industry setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on the design, implementation, and evaluation of machine learning models, statistical analyses, or forecasting systems
  • Explore large-scale datasets to identify patterns, generate insights, and support decision-making across teams
  • Build data visualizations, dashboards, or prototypes to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Conduct experimentation and model validation, and contribute to code review and documentation
  • Participate in team meetings, research discussions, and technical presentations

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, or a related field
  • Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, data structures, and statistical analysis
  • Proficient in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, matplotlib/seaborn) and SQL
  • Experience working with real-world datasets (academic, personal, or professional projects)
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Plotly, or Power BI) is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and an eagerness to learn and contribute in a collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior internship or project experience in applied data science or analytics
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) or big data frameworks (e.g., Spark)
  • Interest in specific domains such as product analytics, NLP, computer vision, or time series forecasting
