Location: Austin, TX (On-site, all days)
Contract Type: W2 – No C2C / Third-Party Vendors
Visa Eligibility: Any visa except H1B
Rate: $45–50/hour

Role Overview

We are seeking a Fullstack Java Developer with 8+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise-level web applications. This role involves working in a fast-paced, mission-driven project, contributing to both backend and frontend development, while mentoring junior developers and implementing best practices.

Only TX locals will be considered due to the on-site requirement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain n-tier architectures (UI, business logic, data access layers) and distributed architectures using integration hubs such as DataPower, Mule, or other ESBs
  • Develop RESTful and SOAP services using Spring Framework or JAX-WS/RS
  • Build multi-module projects, compile and package source code into JAR/WAR/EAR and deploy to WebSphere, JBoss, or similar servers
  • Implement Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Core, Spring Transactions, and other J2EE technologies (JSP, EJB, Servlets, JNDI, JDBC, JMS, JTA)
  • Develop asynchronous Java processes and implement logging and thread management (Log4J, etc.)
  • Frontend development using React or Angular, with experience in TypeScript/ES6, CSS/SCSS, Bootstrap, or similar frameworks
  • Write unit tests using Jest, Enzyme, or Mocha
  • Work with relational databases (Oracle or similar) and optimize SQL queries
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and business stakeholders
  • Mentor junior developers, lead technical design discussions, perform code reviews, and recommend automated review tools
  • Ensure application security (prevent SQL injections, secure cookies, etc.) and follow best practices for high-quality systems
  • Adapt quickly to complex environments and Agile SDLC processes

Must-Have Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in Java Fullstack development
  • Deep knowledge of Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Data, and J2EE internals
  • Hands-on experience with REST and SOAP web services
  • Experience with frontend frameworks: React or Angular
  • Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational databases
  • Experience with unit testing and CI/CD integration
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Nice-to-Have / Bonus Skills

  • Mentoring and leading junior developers
  • Familiarity with Agile processes and SDLC tools like JIRA, JAMA
  • Understanding of application security and secure coding practices
  • Experience working with integration hubs or ESB technologies
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environments
