Role Overview

We are seeking a Full Stack Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable applications powering FreshDirect’s e-commerce platform. You’ll work across the backend, frontend, and cloud services, ensuring high performance, reliability, and seamless user experiences for millions of customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, backend services, and core Java/J2EE applications.
  • Build and optimize front-end components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Collaborate on system architecture, caching strategies, and performance optimization.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
  • Ensure security standards and best practices across applications.
  • Work closely with global teams in New York and Istanbul to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional experience with Java/J2EE, Spring, JPA, JMS.
  • Strong experience in RESTful API design and relational databases.
  • Proficiency with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SEO, and accessibility best practices.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Solaris environments and shell scripting.
  • Experience with CI/CD, build automation, version control, and cloud services (GCP preferred).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, adaptability, and collaborative mindset.

Preferred / Bonus Skills

  • Experience in e-commerce or high-volume transaction systems.
  • Knowledge of Postgres, Oracle 12c+, SQL/PLSQL, and query optimization.
  • Familiarity with modern JS frameworks (React, AngularJS, Ember) and CSS frameworks (Bootstrap, Sass/LESS).
  • Exposure to PCI compliance, performance tuning, or machine learning/data science applications.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $110,000–$129,000
