Frontend Software Developer

Job Brief

We are looking for senior frontend software engineers/developers who have experience with front-end web development to help us operationalize a prototype system developed using a modified Agile software framework. You will be part of a large team that is providing lifecycle software development, cloud engineering and systems engineering for a scalable NextGen space resiliency / flight safety program.

Responsibilities

Researching, designing, developing, and/or modifying new application software

Testing software development methodology in an agile environment

Creating microservices

Supporting systems engineering efforts in system design, solution engineering, and software development

Providing ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.

Collaborating cross-functionally with analysts, project managers, and other engineers

Requirements

Hands on experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, SCSS, or HTML for front-end web development

Experience with Agile development (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)

Experience with creating REST calls with a Node.js library, including Express.js or Axios

Knowledge of REST APIs

Experience with the Vue.js framework (If you don’t have this, please don’t apply)

Experience with supporting junior and mid-level engineers

Experience with designing new UI features

Experience with unit testing

Desired/Bonus Skills

Background in any of the following areas: Orbital Dynamics, Astrodynamics, Aerospace Engineering, Flight Safety, Space Domain Awareness, Satellite Conjunction Analysis, or SAR phenomenology

Experience with Maven, Rancher, Sonarqube

Experience with GIT, Ruby, ArgoCD

Experience with Terraform

AWS Cloud Computing Skills, AWS CloudWatch, Elastic Search, Prometheus, Grafana

Familiarity with NIFI, Apache, Kafka

Kalman Filtering

Education/Experience Requirements

SME Level: Expert?consultant to top management typically with an advanced degree and 13+ years’ experience or bachelors with 15+ years of experience or equivalent.

Senior Level: 10 years of experience in either (a) software engineering (b) software development or (c) systems engineering for information technology systems and a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent field. (Senior level candidates are preferred but we will consider candidates at other levels if they have exceptional skills)

Mid-Level: 5 years of experience in either (a) software engineering (b) software development or (c) systems engineering for information technology systems and a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent field.

Junior Level: Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent field. No experience required.
