Overview

IES is seeking a highly experienced Frontend Developer to join its team in Albany. This role is ideal for a senior-level professional with a strong background in modern JavaScript frameworks, enterprise application development, and technical leadership. The candidate will work on complex, large-scale systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain robust frontend solutions integrated with backend services and cloud-based platforms.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Level III: More than 7 years of experience working on complex projects, including at least 2 years in a leadership role as a Developer
  • 5+ years of experience developing frontend UI applications using:
    • JavaScript-based frameworks such as Angular or React
    • Bootstrap, jQuery, HTML, CSS3
  • 5+ years of experience developing applications using Spring APIs and frameworks, including:
    • Spring MVC
    • Spring Batch
    • Spring Boot
    • Spring REST

Desirable Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience implementing extensive unit testing using automated test frameworks
  • 5+ years of experience with CI/CD, build, and dependency management tools such as Git, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory/Nexus
  • 7 years of experience writing complex SQL queries against RDBMS platforms (Oracle, MS SQL Server)
  • 5+ years of experience implementing Microservices or SOA-based architectures
  • 3+ years of experience using NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud, or similar)
  • Experience with security platforms including Okta, SSO, and Active Directory
  • Experience working with distributed systems such as Kafka, MuleSoft, Redis
  • Experience with container platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain frontend UI applications using Angular or React and modern web technologies
  • Lead and mentor development efforts on complex projects, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards
  • Integrate frontend applications with Spring-based backend APIs
  • Implement and maintain automated unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support microservices and SOA-based solutions
  • Participate in CI/CD pipeline development, build automation, and deployment processes
  • Develop and optimize database interactions, including complex SQL queries
  • Ensure applications meet security, scalability, and performance requirements
  • Support deployments in cloud and containerized environments
