Compensation: $120K–$140K/year + stock options + healthcare, dental, vision + unlimited PTO

The Role

We are seeking a Front-End Game Developer to join our team and shape the future of VR and 3D web applications. Unlike traditional front-end roles, you’ll work outside of standard web frameworks like React or NodeJS, leveraging vanilla JavaScript, Three.js, and GreenSock Animation to create engaging, interactive experiences.

This role focuses on building fun, intuitive, and immersive 3D interactions for VR and standard web platforms. You’ll collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to implement features, maintain and optimize the codebase, and create tools for non-technical team members.

Responsibilities

  • Debug, optimize, and extend our object-oriented vanilla JavaScript codebase.
  • Prototype and implement new VR and 3D features in collaboration with the design team.
  • Develop and test 3D content for VR and flat-screen platforms.
  • Create tools to simplify workflow for non-technical teammates.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards.
  • Write and maintain internal documentation for architecture and feature implementation.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers and product managers to deliver a seamless user experience.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience in 3D game development.
  • Proficiency in vanilla JavaScript in an object-oriented context.
  • Hands-on experience with Three.js or similar WebGL frameworks.
  • Familiarity with VR game development and creating intuitive, fun interactions.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Highly independent, yet a collaborative team player.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or equivalent experience.
  • Passion for using technology to help others and drive impact.

Bonus:

  • Experience with GreenSock Animation (GSAP)
  • Background in interactive storytelling or immersive experiences
