Job Overview

Schraff LLC is looking for a Freelance WordPress Developer to help with ongoing website maintenance, updates, troubleshooting, and improvements. This role may also expand into supporting a larger website rebuild project in the future.

This is a collaborative position where you’ll work closely with an internal team member on a daily basis. Strong communication, responsiveness, and reliability are just as important as technical ability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve WordPress issues including themes, plugins, layout problems, and conflicts
  • Implement page updates and feature improvements efficiently
  • Perform basic template and code edits using HTML, CSS, and light PHP
  • Maintain development best practices such as staging environments, backups, and safe updates
  • Monitor website uptime and respond to outages
  • Manage hosting basics including DNS, SSL, redirects, and provider coordination
  • Improve website performance through caching, image optimization, and plugin cleanup
  • Document updates and changes using notes or Loom walkthroughs

Required Skills

  • 2+ years of WordPress development experience
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic PHP
  • Ability to manage basic hosting and site stability
  • Strong communication and responsiveness
  • Reliable availability for ongoing work
  • Experience working with ticket systems and async collaboration

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with WordPress page builders and modern WP tools
  • Knowledge of website marketing technologies such as:
    • Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
    • Google Tag Manager (GTM)
    • Conversion tracking / pixels
    • Form and call tracking
    • CRM integrations
  • Understanding of landing page tools and basic SEO best practices
