Role Overview

We are looking for a Freelance Squarespace & Wix Web Developer to design, develop, and optimize websites for small business clients. This role is fully remote and offers creative freedom to deliver polished, responsive, and SEO-friendly websites. You will collaborate with designers, marketers, and clients to create websites that are both visually appealing and functionally robust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and customize websites using Squarespace and Wix according to client requirements
  • Collaborate with designers to implement brand-consistent layouts and visual elements
  • Ensure websites are responsive, mobile-friendly, and optimized for performance and SEO
  • Integrate third-party tools, apps, forms, and e-commerce functionality
  • Troubleshoot and resolve website issues to ensure smooth functionality
  • Manage project timelines and deliver high-quality websites on schedule
  • Maintain client websites with updates and minor enhancements as required
  • Stay updated on the latest features, templates, and best practices for Squarespace and Wix
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding progress, requirements, and revisions

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Squarespace and Wix development and customization
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript for custom functionality
  • Experience with responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility
  • Understanding of SEO fundamentals and website optimization techniques
  • Experience integrating third-party apps and e-commerce tools
  • Strong attention to detail, design sensibility, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration and client interaction
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines

Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience with Squarespace and Wix development
  • Proven portfolio showcasing small business websites, landing pages, or similar projects
  • Freelance or remote work experience is a plus

Working Hours
