Position Overview

We are seeking a Fire & Life Safety Engineer to design and implement fire protection systems for mission-critical environments. The role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, coordination with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), and mentoring junior engineers while ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design automatic fire sprinkler, fire detection, and alarm systems.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation for code authorities.
  • Review fire and safety drawings to ensure compliance with applicable codes.
  • Develop project specifications for fire suppression (CSI Division 21) and fire alarm systems.
  • Conduct technical analysis, modeling, and solution development.
  • Lead project tasks and mentor junior engineering staff.
  • Review shop drawings, calculations, and product data against contract documents.
  • Provide life safety insights to design teams and clients.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and coordination with construction teams.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in fire protection engineering.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience designing fire protection systems for commercial, industrial, or mission-critical facilities.
  • Knowledge of fire protection, mechanical, and building codes.
  • Experience mentoring or training junior staff.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems and energy storage systems.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Fire Protection Engineer license.
  • Experience in data centers or mission-critical environments.
  • Experience working on international projects.
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools such as Revit.
