Job Overview
Raytheon is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join our Radar Product Line Team. We are committed to technical excellence and value diverse expertise across modern programming languages and platforms.
Your Responsibilities
• Engage in the requirements gathering, design, development, and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and related tools.
• Design, code, test, integrate, and document robust software solutions.
• Participate in the internal review process for software components and systems.
• Collaborate effectively with project managers and engineering professionals.
• Adhere to established development practices and processes for software configuration management.
Essential Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
• Knowledge of software development principles.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with programming languages such as C++, C, or Java.
• Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, systems software design, operating systems, and the software development lifecycle.
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to produce technical documentation and a commitment to learning new technologies.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective teamwork, particularly in Agile/SCRUM, DevOps, and test automation environments.

The salary range for this role is $55,000 – $107,000, reflecting a range across experience levels. RTX considers various factors when extending offers, including responsibilities, experience, location, education, and skills.
