English Teacher for Afghan Immigrants (Dari & Pashto Speaker)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to teach English to recent immigrants from Afghanistan. The ideal candidate must be fluent in both Dari and Pashto, as these are the native languages spoken by our students. The role offers flexibility, with the opportunity to teach remotely and work with students in 2.5 to 3-hour sessions, 3 to 4 times per week. Classes may start with a single session and increase over time.

Key Responsibilities:
• Teach English to second-language learners from Afghanistan.
• Conduct classes remotely via Zoom, focusing on improving students’ English language skills.
• Create engaging and interactive lesson plans tailored to the needs of the students.
• Be available for 2.5 to 3-hour sessions, 3 to 4 times per week, with the possibility of starting with a single class.
• Candidate must be willing to be HIPPA certified and possibly be open to additional training

Qualifications:
• Fluency in both Dari and Pashto is required.
• Some experience in teaching English or working with second-language learners is preferred.
• Must be reliable, dependable, and able to manage consistent class schedules.
• Familiarity with Zoom or a willingness to learn (training can be provided).
• Strong communication skills and a passion for helping others learn.

Compensation:
• Hourly rate: $20 to $25 per hour, depending on experience.
