⚡ About the Role
The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) serves as Amazon’s front-line responder for hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting in mission-critical AWS data centers.
You will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot vital infrastructure systems that keep the cloud running — including generators, switchgear, UPS systems, cooling systems, and fire/life safety equipment.
This role is ideal for technically skilled professionals with mission-critical experience in data centers, telecom, military, or industrial environments.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain electrical, mechanical, generator, and fire/life safety systems
- Troubleshoot facility equipment and rack-level issues within SLA requirements
- Perform preventive maintenance (HVAC PMs, filter changes, rack power installs, PDU & ATS replacements)
- Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures
- Take daily operational readings (temperature, voltage, current, etc.)
- Utilize CMMS systems to manage workflows and inventory
- Supervise contractors performing maintenance
- Respond to emergency calls via on-call rotation
- Ensure compliance with physical security and safety policies
- Drive operational innovation while reducing facility costs
- Write and maintain operational procedures

🎖 Military MOS / Ratings Encouraged

🎓 Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of mechanical or electrical maintenance experience
- Experience operating electrical/mechanical systems in mission-critical environments (Data Center, Telecom, Industrial, Military)
- Active Top Secret US Government Security Clearance
⭐ Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 4+ years Data Center Engineering experience
- Familiarity with BMS/EPMS systems
- Operating Engineer License (DC II, DC III or equivalent)
- Journeyman Electrical/Mechanical License
- CFC License (Universal or Type II)
- NFPA 70E Certification
